SCOUT / PRIVACY
Privacy at Scout.
Last updated September 18, 2026
This notice covers Scout’s consumer website at scoutautos.com, its car creator, the consumer waitlist, and the separate Waypoint business waitlist. It does not cover the Scout dealer website or dealer services.
Who operates Scout
Scout is operated by Visionary Auto Solutions & Technology, Inc. Questions or requests about this notice can be sent to hello@visionaryauto.ai.
Information the site handles
- Consumer waitlist: email address, an optional vehicle description, consent version and time, permanent signup number, confirmation status, and unsubscribe status.
- Waypoint business waitlist: contact email, business name, location, category, optional website and story, and consent version and time. Waypoint records stay separate from the consumer queue.
- Scout account: Clerk processes the required name, username, password, email address, phone number, and verification steps. Scout uses the verified Clerk account identifier to protect the account’s saved car; Scout does not store the Clerk password in its own database.
- Car creator: vehicle year, make, model, paint, appearance details, car name, personality, generated portrait, generation state, and saved revision. The image request sends the vehicle description and personality to OpenAI. Scout does not automatically add the account’s email, phone number, or vehicle identification number to that request, but text you enter in the appearance or personality fields is included.
- Optional site analytics: if enabled by your choice, Scout records allowed interaction events and links them to your Scout account identifier when you sign in. Those events exclude email addresses and car details. Optional masked session replay, when enabled, is limited to the public homepage and excludes forms and the car creator. A browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal disables this analytics collection.
How the information is used
Scout uses these records to save and reload your car, protect it from other accounts, operate the waitlists, send requested waitlist messages, understand consented use of the consumer site, prevent duplicate or excessive requests, and diagnose service failures.
Consumer and Waypoint signup records are not combined into one audience. Creating a Scout account does not enroll you in launch emails.
Services that process information
The current service uses AWS for the website, private portrait storage, and its SQLite application database; Clerk for account authentication; OpenAI for requested car portrait generation; Resend for requested waitlist email; and PostHog for consented site analytics. Each service processes only the information needed for that function.
Retention and your choices
A consumer waitlist number remains allocated after unsubscribe so an issued number is not reassigned. Unsubscribing records the opt-out and cancels pending promotional messages. Unverified access to an unsaved generated-car draft expires after seven days, but the current service does not automatically delete signup, saved-car, or Waypoint records on a published schedule.
You can change the site analytics choice in the analytics control when it is shown. You can also use the unsubscribe link in waitlist email. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of a record, email hello@visionaryauto.ai with enough information to locate it. Do not send a password or verification code.
Access controls
Saved cars and their portraits require the verified Clerk account that owns them. Portrait objects are kept in private storage and served through checked application routes. Waitlist exports and operational tools are private operator functions, outside the public website.
